Dr. Ren Kuwaye-Tamanaha, DPT
Ren Kuwaye-Tamanaha, DPT, is a physical therapist specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation and functional recovery. He works with a diverse patient population, including injured workers, post-operative patients, transitional care patients, athletes of all levels, Medicare beneficiaries, and individuals seeking to return to their daily activities with less pain and greater confidence.
Ren earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). His clinical approach focuses on restoring movement, building functional capacity, and empowering patients with self-care strategies that allow them to take an active role in their recovery. His goal is to not only reduce pain but to teach patients how to become their own best advocate and maintain long-term success.
What Ren enjoys most about practicing physical therapy is helping people better understand their bodies and guiding them back to the activities and lifestyles that matter most to them. He is particularly proud of completing his training, building a career dedicated to helping others, and serving as a clinical instructor, where he has the opportunity to mentor the next generation of physical therapists.
Outside of the clinic, Ren enjoys staying active through exercise, golf, pickleball, and bowling, as well as spending time with friends. Many patients are surprised to learn that he has experienced injuries and rehabilitation firsthand, giving him a unique perspective and allowing him to personally relate to many of the challenges his patients face during recovery.
