Dr. Michael Lowenstein, MD
Dr. Michael Lowenstein is a board-certified interventional pain physician with more than three decades of experience helping patients overcome acute and chronic pain conditions. He specializes in treating pain related to injuries, degenerative conditions, and complex medical disorders, utilizing a comprehensive approach that combines interventional procedures, regenerative medicine, and functional medicine principles to restore function and improve quality of life.
Dr. Lowenstein earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Loma Linda University in 1992. He later completed a fellowship in Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, further expanding his expertise in innovative therapies designed to optimize healing and recovery.
He is board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Functional and Regenerative Medicine. His diverse training allows him to address the full spectrum of factors contributing to pain, with a focus on treating the whole person rather than simply managing symptoms.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lowenstein has been recognized for his pioneering work in addiction and pain medicine. For more than 27 years, he served as Medical Director of the Waismann Method, a nationally recognized rapid opioid detoxification program, where he helped thousands of patients from around the world recover from opioid dependence and reclaim their lives. His dedication to advancing patient care has made him a respected leader in both pain management and regenerative medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lowenstein enjoys playing pickleball, traveling, and spending time with his family. His passion for innovation and lifelong learning continues to shape his approach to patient care and his commitment to helping patients return to the activities they love.
